16 is the Magic Number (FPS)
Well, we all know that 31 frames per second (FPS) is considered the magic number for smooth animation in Flash projects on the desktop.
Well if you dig around the whitepapers on Adobe.com you'll find that for Symbian handsets, the magic number is 16. The reason for this is to do with CPU clock speeds, and the fact that the actual frames per second you can achieve as a result are limited.
In fact the FPS available include: 64, 32, 21.3, 16, 12.8
So 16 is the closest to our recommended 15FPS, good enough for smooth animation, and guaranteed to keep your little phone CPU happy (to a degree!). More tips are available in the book, and in the original whitepaper ...
