In September, I'll be traveling between a few conferences giving talks on mobile and device development using Flash.

One of those conferences, is FITC Mobile 2009, which is shaping up to be a very cool conference, with lots of iPhone, Android, webOS, Windows Mobile, Flash, BlackBerry, and other Mobile Platform topics.

Here's some information of this conference:

• 2 full days of presentations, plus one optional day of pre-conference workshops

• Covering iPhone, Flash Lite, Android, Windows Mobile, SMS, Palm, Blackberry, and other relevant topics in the Mobile World

• Over 30 presentations and panels covering all aspects of mobile development

• Includes not only presentations on the technical aspects of development but also will cover marketing, funding, and other business aspects of mobile development

• Between 300-400 attendees anticipated from around the world

• Over 30 presenters from the mobile world

Jam packed with information as well as a massive networking opportunity, FITC Mobile 2009 consists of presentations, demonstrations, and panel discussions, and is one of the only events in the world covering all aspects of mobile content. With some of the most interesting and engaging presenters from around the world, it’s 2 days and nights that will leave you inspired, energized and awed!

Among the Flash topics:

Martin Barclay & Robert Burdick from Nokia: Develop and Distribute for Nokia smartphones

Scott Janousek: Practical Design and Development with Flash on Mobile Devices

Scott Janousek: Leveraging Accelerometers on Mobile Devices

Thomas Joos: Tips and Tricks for Flash Lite Optimization

Weyert de Boer: Android for Flash (Lite) Developers

Mark Doherty: Flash Lite Distribution and the Open Screen Fund

The FITC organizers have graciously given us a discount code to use if you're interested in attending FITC Mobile in September.

Just a heads up, but Scott Janousek (coauthor of Foundation Flash Applications for Mobile Devices, and the upcoming AdvancED Flash on Devices: Mobile Development with Flash Lite and Flash 10) will be giving talks at few upcoming conferences starting in September (and into October).

Scott will be giving 2, (yes, two presentations) at FITC Mobile in Toronto in September:

Leveraging Accelerometers in Mobile Devices

In this session, we'll look at some cool things you can do today with accelerometer hardware found commonly in millions of mobile and devices, whether it be Apple's iPhone, or millions of other mobile devices from Nokia, Sony Ericsson, and other mobile device manufacturers. We'll explain basic fundamentals on how accelerometers work, as well as explore how to harness the power of accelerometer technology in a range of different devices.

Who this presentation is for: Developers who want to learn about some of the ways to tap into accelerometer on devices (not just iPhone).

What attendees will take from this presentation: Attendees will come away understanding how to better apply force and motion based feedback interaction to their mobile content through accelerometers; not only across not only iPhone, but also other mobile device platforms.

Practical Design and Development with Flash on Mobile and Devices

The Flash player is on hundreds of millions of mobile and other non-PC devices. It is a great runtime to quickly create effective applications and compelling experiences targeting both mobile and other device platforms (e.g. Symbian, Windows Mobile, Android, webOS).

Attend this session to take a journey through the pains and pleasures of design and development with the Flash Platform across mobile and devices. The session will cover: application design and development with Flash and ActionScript, testing with Adobe Device Central, and deploying content with the Adobe Mobile Packager. We'll cover working with Flash Lite, as well as prepping for Flash 10.

Audience:
This presentation is targeted at those with an interest in learning how to leverage the Flash Platform on mobile and devices. It will feature examples drawn from real (Flash Lite) projects, as well as many Flash community endeavors.

Attain:
Attendees will walk away with a better understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the Flash runtimes across mobile and devices, as well as practical matters when designing and developing with the Flash Platform.

Scott will also be presenting at this year's FlashPitt conference in October:

Brewing Non-PC Flash Experiences

Flash now runs across over one billion devices. Scott Janousek, Adobe Community Expert for Mobile and Devices and co-author of "Foundation Flash Applications for Mobile Devices", will cover what's new in the exciting world of Flash on the Non-PC realm. This session will include an overview of the latest tools, products, and services from Adobe that designers and developers can leverage to create compelling experiences across Non-PC device platforms (e.g. mobile phones, Mobile Internet Devices, and other Consumer Electronic Devices).

This Session Is For (Flash) Developers looking to hear about what's new in Flash Mobile and Devices What Attendees Will Walk Away With: A comprehensive overview of the Flash Mobile Platform, as well as discussion about real world projects.

These are really cool opportunities to hear what's new with Flash across mobile and devices, as well as hear from many other talented folks in the (mobile) industry!
